Who we are/What we believe
We are ordinary men & women who believe in an extraordinary God. We strive to live with the same passion, focus, vision, and faith as the heroes of our faith did as we all look to our greatest Hero: Jesus (Heb. 12:1-3)
We believe every disciple of Jesus is a disciple maker and is called to walk in the priesthood of believers. Jesus has given us the authority to share the gospel, baptize new believers, lead churches, and teach others to do the same. (Mt. 28:18-20, 2 Tim. 2:2)
We are one organic church, composed of many family-sized churches united in God’s love and vision. Our heart’s desire is to see God’s glory fill the earth as the waters cover the sea. (Hab. 2:14)
We believe that people are the church. Therefore, we are individually members of the collective church in Rochester: taking on the responsibilities and walking in the authority Christ gave us to reach the lost. (Mt. 18:20, 28:18-20)
We believe the Word of God is the highest authority and that He gives us His Spirit to guide us into all truth. We believe the Bible is complete, not requiring additional doctrine. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
God desires for everyone to know Him, but faith comes from hearing. He calls us to be Christ’s ambassadors; we represent Christ to the lost and expect Jesus to come back when every nation has heard the Good News. (2 Pet. 3:9, Rom. 10:17, 2 Cor. 5:20, Mt. 24:14)
God has called us to be faithful disciples of Jesus who hold a significant role in completing the Great Commission. We believe that everyone has potential to influence the eternity of those close to them through the Gospel and their testimony. (Luke 8:39)
We believe that loving God and loving others is the heart of Kingdom growth. Through unity in God as a church, the world will know the Father sent His Son to save the world He loves. (Mt. 22:37-40, John 17:23, John 3:16)
